  • How long is the waiting list?
We have a lot of people on the waiting list and the list is very long. It’s quite hard to give an exact time frame on the list as it depends on a large number of factors (e.g. coach availability, new terms, new classes, suitability of the place to a child’s age etc). Being offered a place could be many months, a year or even longer. Most people will be offered a class within 12 months of being added to the waiting list.
  • How will I be offered a place?
All places are offered by email. These emails are sent in bulk to those that have been on the waiting list the longest. Please ensure you submit the waiting list form with an email that you have access to ie. a work email may not be suitable in some cases. We also advise that people add our email (info@vortexgymnastics.com) to their email contacts to avoid our email being filtered to a spam mailbox. Places will be filled by return email only on a first come, first served basis.
  • How do I contact you?
All communication is done via email only. We do not make nor accept phone calls. Please feel free to email us your query to info@vortexgymnastics.com and we will reply as soon as possible. We endeavour to respond to queries within 24 hours.
  • How long are classes?
Preschool classes run for 45 minutes. Our recreational classes are one hour long. As children advance, they may be invited to more advanced and longer classes. This is done by coach invite only which will be sent via email.
  • Do you cater for special needs?
We do not have specific classes for children with additional needs nor do we offer one-to-one sessions. However, within our recreational classes, we currently have children with various needs within the class. Coaches adapt and make changes as necessary to allow for participation.
  • Can my child do a trial class?
Unfortunately, we do not offer trial or "taster" classes. If you are unsure about signing up for an entire term, an option would be to enrol your child in one of our exciting camps that run throughout the year. Our camps are a fantastic way for children to experience our facilities, meet our enthusiastic coaches and get a feel for the sport of gymnastics in a fun and structured environment without the commitment of a full class term. Should you sign your child up for a full term and in the unlikely event that they do not wish to continue attending gymnastics after their first class only, we will refund you the term fees, minus the €50 non-refundable deposit and the Gymnastics Ireland insurance charge.
  • Are parents allowed to stay during the class?
Parents or guardians are not permitted to stay in the gym during class. This is to ensure that all adults in the building are Safeguarded and Garda Vetted with Gymnastics Ireland.
  • How much do classes cost?
This can vary from term to term as it depends upon insurance costs associated with Gymnastics Ireland membership. This information is communicated via email when you are offered a place.
  • What should my child bring with them?
Your child should bring a bottle of water to class. Fizzy drinks and/or juices are not allowed. Food is also not permitted in the gym.
  • What should my child wear?
While there is Vortex Gymnastics clothing available to purchase here, there is no mandatory uniform required for recreational level classes (Preschool and 1 hour classes). Children are more than welcome to wear a leotard, but do not have to. Children should wear general exercise clothing ie. tshirt and shorts/ leggings. They should wear footwear that they are able to take off and put on easily by themselves. Velcro or slip on footwear is more suitable for younger children. Children will also need to wear socks to go on the trampoline during class. Long hair must be tied back off the face.
  • When do classes run?
We currently offer recreational 1 hour classes on Tuesday to Sunday (inclusive). Our classes are arranged by age and times vary each day. Preschool classes are currently run on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
